Port Stop Three: Cozumel, Mexico

And we are yet again on our way to our last port stop in Cozumel. This is by far my dad's favorite place to go. He was so excited to take all of us and show off "his" island.

We got a fairly early start so we would have plenty of time here.

We took a cab to Corona Beach only about 10 minutes from the port. We got there and it wasn't quite what we expected. I think we all thought there would be a sandy beach right into the water. What we learned was that the last big hurricane that came through here washed away the sandy beaches and destroy what they had. We could of gone to the other side, but it was the windward side and not what we were wanting. But after getting over what we didn't have it turned out to be a great place for us to hang out for the day. 

Everyone had a great time snorkeling and seeing all the beautiful fish underwater.

Gaga brought beach toys for the kids and they spend a lot of time with those.

We took full advantage of time to swim before dinner.

It was our last formal night for dinner. Everyone was dressed to their best so we took advantage of it and got some pictures.

On the menu for dinner tonight was lobster. Jason (and all the guys) were very excited to eat as much lobster as they wanted. I think in the end they had about 4, or maybe 5 each. Yum!!

The busy days caught up with Jackson...he was pooped!

Our sweet and happy waiter Ernesto was quick to bring us what we needed. He took such sweet care of the kids every night at dinner.

The movie on the top deck was the grand finale of the night. The kids got dessert and enjoyed watching "Planes."

It was great to hang out, but I was oh, so tired that night. The sun wore me out!

What would a trip be without a little visit to the medical clinic on the ship.

Grace was in kids club and happened to trip on a metal grate on the floor. It took off the top of her toe right behind her toe nail. She was not happy to go to the doctor! They were so good to her and turned her tears to laughter by the end of the visit. 

Sanja made a doll out of towels for bedtime. The kids loved it!

With one more day of sailing we are winding down our time on the ship. Next stop...Galveston!

Port Stop, Day Two: Belize City, Belize

Belize was our second stop on the cruise. We didn't have anything planned for excursions here because most of them are at least an hour drive from the port and none of us were up for that. So we decided to have a good breakfast in the dining room and take our time getting off the ship. Being that the ship couldn't dock right at the island because of shallow waters, we had to take a 15 tender (small boat shuttle) to Belize City.

The ever impressive dining room. There were 3 levels that held up to 1500 people at one time. It was quite a sight to see!

We didn't do much but shop at a few stores for some shopping. Grace and Hope had a braid with some colored yard in their hair. 

My mom had a braid along the crown of her head. It looked very pretty!

This guy was selling fresh coconut water (some mixed with rum) that were oh so tasty!

We headed back on the ship at lunch time and took advantage of the few people that stayed on while in port.

Jason and Jackson competed in a corn hold competition and won first place! Jason nailed it and won for the both of them. It was fun to see Jackson so proud of him.

On most days we went to the top deck for the surfing/boogie board simulator. Lee was pretty good at surfing!

Mini golf was a popular attraction as well.

Yet another day of ice skating!

After dinner the kids went to kids club and participated in the Pirate Night. So thankful for the time they spend there and the fun things they did!

Onto stop three at Cozumel tomorrow!
