Thanksgiving Ski Trip to Austria

Happy Thanksgiving from Austria, Tyrol region!
For many years we have talked about making a ski trip to Austria for Thanksgiving. Knowing that places book up fast this time of year we decided with the Green's to make it happen this past summer. So, back in June I booked this 3 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen for us 4 adults and 4 children.
After months of talking and planning it finally came to fruition! We were piled in the car and ready for our 6 hour journey to the Austrian Alps.
Our first views of the mountains were amazing. There is nothing like that first look and pure relaxation comes over you!

The kids (along with Shawn, Mason and Willow) did a ski school for 4 hours on our first day. Their teacher's name was Stephanie and she was fantastic! She built up the confidence and had them loving to ski by the end of the lesson.

On the bunny hill area where the kids learned they had a covered conveyer belt for the kids to get back up. Pretty ingenious if I don't say so myself!

Jason, Liz and I skied the first day. Us girls were taking it slow, but for Jason who just went in the past few years was a "pro" at it. After a few slow runs we had our snow legs back and could relax and enjoy the view.

By the end of the second day the kids were skiing on the same runs as we were. Jackson being the little speed demon he is, took off and does amazing. Grace likes to take it a little slower (after a big fall) and do lots of turns down the mountain. That definitely shows both of their personalities!
We are going to make this a every Thanksgiving kind of trip. It was a trip to remember!

New Do!

Grace has been asking for a new haircut for a while...well today it happened. Six inches chopped off!
It looks so good on her. But with that face, how could it not? She loves it, and so do we!

Tapas Night!

Jason and I love our tapas nights at home. We have picked up a few tapas recipe books while vacation in Spain. We have fun looking through the book and finding new recipes to make. Tonight on the menu was marinated goat cheese, gorgonzola stuffed dates, garlic stuffed olives, and roasted garlic on a toasted baguette.

Love Letters

I love getting letters from Grace. Not because they are from her, but because of the sweet things she writes about and even more how the words are spelled. She got all her spelling words right but failed to put the question mark at the end of the sentence. These sweet "sorry" notes right from her heart I will always treasure.

End of Football Season

Jason has been head coach of the JV Ramstein football team and assistant coach for the varsity. He had a great season with his players and loved every minute of guiding and leading the young men. They ended the season with only one loss for the whole season.
The last varsity game (also the championship game) was Saturday. They were the underdogs against Wiesbaden High School. It was an exciting game of interceptions and recovered fumbles for Ramstein. They ended up winning the game 14-0!
We are so proud of Jason for his first season being a football coach. It is so neat being there to support him and see his true love for the players and game. We look forward to next year!

Happy Halloween!

We went to our church's trust or treat festivities. It was an excellent choice compared to batteling the base chaos. The kids had fun playing games, jumping in the bounce house and playing with friends. We decorated our trunk with a luau theme and bowled with a coconut. We all had a wonderful time!
