Firenze Getaway

While my parents were here Jason and I took advantage of it and went on a 4 day trip to Florence. It was a wonderful trip to unwind, relax and enjoy each other.
We had gelato everyday, wine was amazing and food was the best I have had anywhere else.
On Saturday we took a 7 hour cooking class. We were part of a group of about 20 and went to the market to get the supplies and made an amazing array of food. The woman teaching us was Italian to the core. She didn't speak any english, and sang to the food as she cooked. It was such a unique experience!
We made bruschetta, spagetti bolognese, homemade pasta, pizza, pork and potatoes, gelato, and tiramisu. It was such a fun class and we met some great people from all over the world.
Can't thank my parents enough to enjoying the time with the kids so we could getaway from it all for a few days!

Mom and Dad Bertram Trip, part 2 Canyoning

While in Austria we took a canyoning trip for the day. We originally wanted to do an adult one, but found a kid friendly one that we thought the kids would have fun with. We woke up  to a chilly morning and ready to put on the wetsuit to keep us warm.
We took a hike through the canyon, up the waterfall areas and through the rocks.
It was so much fun! We are hooked and looking to do more when we make our way back to that area.

Mom and Dad Bertram, Austria Trip (part 1)

The day after my parents arrived, we made the drive to Uderns, Austria.
Our 3 bedroom apartment
Hike #1 up to the waterfall

Hike #2 we took the gondola up and hiked the 7 miles down the mountain. It only took us...4 hours!
Love this playground at the top of the mountain.
These cows had bells around their necks. We loved listening to them while we hiked.

Our pitstop break on the trail.

We made it! The kids were troopers and we were exhausted.
The kids celebrated by running through the field at the end of the trail.

Scherden Summer Visit, part 2

We loved having the Vradenburgs here to visit with them as well. The kids love Kylie and Cody!
At the monkey park the kids were able to feed the monkey and see them in a natural habitat.

The castle of Haut Koenisbourg was built in the 12th century, destroyed and then built again in the 1400s.

Jackson running through the Alsace vineyards. Rough life!
