Port Stop, Day One: Roatan, Honduras

Our first stop on the cruise was to Roatan Bay, Honduras. My mom and I visited this place the last time we went on a cruise about 17 years ago. It was fun to go back and see it again after so many years.
My mom booked a place for us to spend the day at "Little French Key." It is a private island about 15 minutes from port. At the island there are all sorts of rescued animals that had been mistreated at circus' and homes. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to! Full of crystal clear water to snorkel and swim.
Waking up in the morning to coffee on the balcony before we left was a great way to get the morning started. As you can see in the background the first sighting of land in more than two days.

We are loaded up and ready to go!

Hearing the singing of the locals made us really feel like we were in an exotic place.
While we waited for our shuttle the girls had a flower put in their hair by Uncle Brad.
All 13 of us packed in the bus.

A perfect shot of a part of the island we swam in.

Jackson found a nice big shell at the bottom while snorkeling.
Enjoying some beverages and relaxing. This is the life!
While half of the group went snorkeling we ran into this little guy near the water. This howling monkey was only a month old and was rescued from a private home that smuggled him in the country. The government brought him here to be raised.
Anytime he went from person to person he automatically went to the head. He was so stinking cute!

The resort had had this jaguar for a number of years so he was very tame with people. For a price ($30) you could play with him in the water. We decided it was more fun to stay back and watch from a distance.

Jumping off this balcony was one of the highlights of the day.
Jason tried to talk Grace into by showing her how easy it is. But she had no part of it!
Me and Hope gave it a try.
Before we left we bought an underwater camera. This is the first shot of Grace while she was snorkeling.

This anteater was in heaven eating the millions of ants on this tree. It was fun to watch him devour them.

Brad treated me, Grace and Hope to horseback riding in the ocean. What an amazing experience it was! They have about 11 horses, but only 4 take people on rides around the island. The other ones are still in training.
Our ride was about 30 minutes long with the horses getting up to their backs in the water.
Check out that happy girl! She had a grin from ear to ear the entire time.
Lee was the photographer while we were on the horses and he got this funny shot of John.
Another happy girl!

All three of us off in the distance during out last minutes of riding.
Dad and Brad taking advantage of our drink tickets at the bar.
The lunch they provided was so yummy! Chicken, beef, lobster, shrimp, fried plantains, salsa, and coleslaw...the perfect lunch!

The kids loved playing in the sand.
Just as we started our day with coffee on the balcony, it was a great way to end our day before we left for port #2.

Two Days of Cruising

For two days we cruised in the ocean and took advantage of what the ship had to offer. We all had so much fun being together and enjoying each others company after 2 years apart.

Jackson and James enjoyed the climbing wall on the top deck (level 15) of the ship.

The kiddos love Uncle Brad!
This area is called "The Promonade."
It is full of shops, restaurants, pubs and entertainment for just about anyone. Food was available 24 hours a day at the cafe.
On Tuesday we saw an ice skating show. My pictures didn't turn out very well, but at least you get to see what the ice skating rink looked like while the show was going on.
It was an amazing show full of dance, majic and plenty of costume changes.
The kids loved the arcade area.

My mom got the girls matching dresses to wear to dinner one night.
While most of the kids (the girls came) were at kids club the adults went to a show.
We of course had to get a sunset picture of us.
Jackson loved being able to spend time with Tommy. He loves his cousin so much!
The kids also went to the ice skating rink for about 45 minutes when they had an open session. Jackson really took off and went many times around the ring. Grace improved a whole bunch since the last time we went in December for Jackson's birthday.

A few nights on the ship they played movies for the kids to watch pool side. What a special treat that was for them!

Our room keeper, Sanja, made creatures out of towels and put them on the bed to surprise the kiddos. This one was wearing my moms glasses.
As I look back at these pictures there were so many other things we saw a did that I didn't capture with my camera.
We also celebrated Lee's birthday on the 14th, but for some reason don't have pictures of that either.
We decorated the door to his room and the waiters sang to him at dinner time.
But at least you get the idea of what fun we had!
