Christmas Eve/Day

Merry Christmas, 2013!
After our Christmas Eve service at church the kids were so excited to get the carrots, cookies and milk ready for Santa and the reindeer. Jackson made sure to cut enough carrots for each of the reindeer.
Grace was in charge of pouring the milk for Santa.
Although, she was a little concerned that there was wood in the fireplace and he wouldn't be able to make it down. We assured her that he has a special kind of magic and it would be okay.
 All set up and ready!
The kids could hardly wait till the next morning. At about 4 a.m. I heard Grace and Jason went to check on her. When he came back to bed he said the kids were up playing in Jackson's room thinking it was time for Santa! Whoa...way to early! So we told them to go back to bed and at 7 we will get up to check if Santa came. Who knows if they went back to sleep or just layed in bed, but I can guarantee you when they saw 7:00 on the clock they were in our room telling us it was time to get up...finally!
Looks like Santa and the reindeer loved the treats!
As we do every year we tape off the top of the stairs and have them wait to hear the music until we get things ready before the kids come down. I like to get pictures of them running down the stairs full of excitement.
 Love their faces!

We read the Christmas story to the kids and enjoyed reminding them the true meaning of why we have Christmas.
Later on that day the Green's and Allyson and her kids came over for a relaxed dinner and night of card games while the kids played.
The girls enjoyed each others company coloring and playing.
I didn't get a picture of the boys, but they loved playing the Wii and having nerf wars all over the house. I am finding nerf bullets all over the place!
We had a wonderful Christmas with our family and friends. This time of year is always a little bit more hard being so far away from family members, but we are very thankful for skype and nice long phone conversations.
Special memories were made this season!
